I never played Ice Climbers till then and I have to say the controls are atrocious! Anyone that played both, were they always so bad? falling through the ice platforms and whatnot. I also bought Nintendo Land and other than a few group games its pretty terrible. Alas it was only 5$ so whatevs...Can't wait for Mario Kart....
I love NES Remix. The challenges are really fun and make me want to go back and play the original games. I don't know if Ice Climbers was as bad though. Like yourself, I never played it until Remix.

It's a shame that you don't like Nintendo Land. I actually quite like all of the little games. I couldn't tell you how many hours I've spent playing a few different ones. The only thing that started getting a bit annoying to me was your little robot guide, Monita. I wanted to skip some of her talking but oh well.

You should totally have them run into Iain Banks' Culture. One of their smart ships or something. I don't know why, but that tickles my fancy.

Ha Monita is the worst. her explainations are so drawn out. Which is another current problem I have with Nintendo. I just wish everything they made didnt have to be so kid or family friendly. Not meaning more mature rated games. Cause I for the most part love all of Nintendos FPGs. I just feel their menus and in game tuturials are just way to over explanatory (I dont need a 20min lecture on how to play Nintendo Land Monita, My 3yr old niece could figure this out.) and kiddie. I dunno, its probably just me but I wish I could hit an Adult or Experienced Gamer button and have a more grown up feel to the dashboard/Menu/tTutorials on it. But I digress, I really enjoy Mario Chase, Luigis Mansion, and Animal Crossing (WHY CANT WE PLAY THESE ONES ONLINE NINTENDO?). Also, The Yohis Cart and DK thing are ok but I just cant get into the others. I find the controls for Metroid are turrible and not being able to control the walking in the Zelda is just a weird choice to me. BUT I did unlock all the stages in Remix. Dont wanna spoil anything but I got a small chortle from the final board that opens up. Gotta get like 6 more stars to have them all!

Yes! That would be great.

I haven't unlocked quite that many yet, haha. At least I don't think so. It's been a little while since I played Remix. Been spending a looot of time in STO, so I've been neglecting all of my other games.

However, I got Tropical Freeze yesterday. I've been so excited for it. It was one of the reasons that we got a WiiU in the first place. We both grew up loving the DK games and we both really enjoyed Returns. Combine that with all of the publicity for it leading up to the launch and you have two very excited people. Unfortunately, I think that it also made two people with very high expectations. One of the problems, we think, is the fact that we're using the GamePad as our controller. It can be very laggy. We might have to get a different controller to play it properly (Here Nintendo, have even more of our money!). Also, in the first world, there isn't much of that DK charm. The second world gets a bit better, so hopefully it continues to do so.

(Also, I hate Cranky as a side-kick. Sorry to everyone who likes him. His power is just 'bleh' and if I have the option I always choose Dixie. She just seems like the best choice. Which makes me kind of sad for Diddy.)

I almost bought DK Tropical Freeze today. It was between that and Mario 3d Land. I figured Id get more gaming out of 3d Land although Im sure Ill play Tropical Freeze someday as well. They both got great reviews. I feel you on the Lag with the Gamepad to TV controls. I swear some of the jumping was off when I was playing Mario the other day (atleast thats the story Im stitcking to as an explanation for the many Mario lives lost. Also picked up Earthbound on the Virtual Console. Its one of my favorite games. Love the music and story. probably wont play either till I finish Pikmin 3

Just popping in to say I just downloaded a whole bunch of games on my 3DS. Just played through Streets Of Rage for the first time in years!! Good times!! We played it soo much! The controls are really uncomfortable compared to the good old sega controller. I'm still suprised I got to the boss on my first go since downloading. It incorporates the 3D ability, which to be honest it was pretty good at anyway, but it complements it nicely.

I also downloaded the good old Super Hang On, Tetris and a new game Kung Fu Rabbit.

Kung Fu Rabbit is an AWESOMELY CUTE game!!!! Get it if you haven't! Seriously!!

So now I really want to play Streets of Rage 2, the best one, but they haven't got it :(

I'm just gonna go immerse myself in the wonderful retro music of my childhood games :music:

Still playing New Leaf daily (at least long enough to look in the stores/buy stuff I need/check turnip price/etc. I'm getting very, very tired of my character tripping ALL THE FREAKING TIME!!!! At least once a week she's nearly unplayable because every few steps she's falling on her face. I think the game gets mad at me because I'll spend 3-4 hours playing at time. My townies are always complaining that I look tired but I make her lay down on her bed and turn the big light switch off before I save and quit...and I sleep like 11 hours a night so she gets more than half the day of sleep (my time is a little bit off so it can correspond better with my awake times but I usually turn the game off around 8pm game time and don't open it again until 9:30-10am game time the next day) so I have no idea why my character is a continuing klutz all the time.

I am still playing Bravely Default but not quite as hardcore as I was before (my DS actually has off-time occasionally lolol). I also talked my hubby into getting me Paper Mario Sticker Star over the weekend so I am slowly delving into that when I'm not being taken over by the other two games. I just felt like I needed a Mario game for my DS...kind of felt naked without one. LOL! I had originally gone to get New Super Mario Bros. 2 since we love the first one and this one is only for the DS but Best Buy was out of it. I'd been wanting to get Sticker Star since I'd heard about it because I loved the original Paper Mario when I played it on an emulator some years back and it was cheaper to get than Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion, and Mario Party (three other must haves for me along with 3Dland which BB didn't have either). :Mario :Luigi :mush

I normally avoid Gamestop in favor of a small local game store chain, but I went in today hoping to streetpass their display 3DS - I had nothing better to do anyway. Didn't get a streetpass, but I did find copies of Metroid Prime Hunters and Professor Layton and the Curious Village for under fifteen dollars each! I'd never actually played either title (never played a single Layton game, actually), so I grabbed them both. PLatCV is enjoyable, at least seven puzzles in. I haven't started MPH yet - my daughter grabbed it right away and has been reluctant to let it leave her 2DS. :P

RMDC -> You'll be happy to hear that the last time I was in Best Buy before what posted above (to get Bravely Default when it came out, actually) they were showing gameplay video of FE: Awakening at their DS station and my daughter saw it and said that it was cool anime and looked like fun to play. I have played the demo and tend to agree with her so it will be a game I will be picking up at some point but now I'm scared I'll have to fight her off my DS so I can play. :D :rotfl: :duel:

I am, indeed, very pleased. You'll love it! If only FE:A had an online mode instead of being restricted to streetpasses..
