Yes. I thought it would be much easier. A little less stitching to be done.

I'm with you there. Stitching block backgrounds is no fun!

@johloh: I spent a significant chunk of time in my freshman year of college (yes, hi. I'm older than most of you) running through that Chocobo breeding chain. I knew exactly what you were going for as soon as I caught up with this thread. Naturally, I had help. I think the Internet had finally reached significant usage to have the cheat guides by this point, though someone may have bought a hint guide. The PS wasn't mine, I just bought my own memory card and we traded it around the dorms.

Oh man, I should really track down a copy of this game. I haven't played it since then. I'm remembering going through all the trouble to steal those damned nuts.

I think the revision of the said pattern is looking pretty swell. This sort of thing would probably benefit from some elaborate borders. Say, in the style of a baby announcement sampler perhaps? Flowers and whatnot.

i also played it in college, except on a pc, and it had already been out for 1-2 years at that point...so you might have a year or two on me, but not by much!

do you mean borders around each chocobo frame? or around the entire project? can you find an image for an example? because i definitely agree it needs more.

on a side note: if you google image search for "baby sampler cross stitch pattern" my secret of mana pattern comes up! odd. as that post does not contain baby or sampler.

I think he means a border round the entire project, like on my dragon cross stitch in non vc. You can do the border as simple or complicated as you like.

I was thinking around the entire work. I don't have anything specific in mind. I've been wanting to pick up some traditional cross stitch books for inspiration, but haven't yet gotten down to doing that.

My internet-pal Beefranck is doing it right.

I'll see if I can come up with a better example in between working on my now-rather-overdue stitching swap (it just so happens to be video game related as that's kind of "my thing" but it's, uh, bit different than my previous work).

Yeah! That's pretty much exactly what I meant. That one doesn't look like it'd be too time consuming either.

Finished mine last night and washed it. When I get home tonight I will iron and frame it and put the finished picture up tomorrow.

Now it is back to my SMB3 Map for a few weeks.

Vicious gnomes attacked and severed Kefkas’ head last night. Hmmm, that was the most fun I think I had with this project. Oops, moving on to plan B, something smaller…
