Hi everyone,
I'm about to start my first large-ish cross stitch project (194x236) and I'm wondering if there is anything I should know about large projects before I begin. I'm doing a superhero alphabet for my cousin's family.
Also, I was hoping someone might have some good backstitching and french knot tutorials/resources. Thanks everyone. Wish me luck!

If the whole thing isn't going to be on a big frame, you need to find a way to keep the fabric you're not working on at the minute safe and clean. I usually roll mine up and clip it so its not in the way.
And always remember to take your project off the hoop when you're putting it down for an evening. Because you'll be moving your hoop around the project, if you leave it for too long in one place you can get permanent kinks in the project that won't come out and you really don't want that!
I think Mary Corbet is one of the best teachers on the web- and she does videos!

I prefer a scroll over a hoop for large stuff like this. No kinks to worry about and it keeps your fabric nice and tight. I got a cheap one at Michaels for $14.99
