And Pyper, I'm not exactly sure! I was thinking about using a more silvery thread - perhaps go stare at the metallic DMC colours in the shop as I don't own any of them. I might do all the colours as the pattern says, then go over a few of the stars with the silver thread, one strand. No idea. I was foolish enough when cutting the fabric that I only have a spare seven squares free on the right hand border, so I might have to switch some of the stars around to make it look slightly better. I'll probably post a few more WIPs on twitter and then the final x-stitch when I've decided

Started on the turtle, Think I am still on track to finish by christmas.
Not sure about the dark green colour though, starting to worry that it is too dark.

This is looking lovely
Did you stitch the red thread guidelines? Are you going to remove them when you've finished or just stitch over them?

Re: Discworld WIP
I tacked them in beforehand as a guide, each up or down is 5 stitches. I will remove them as best I can once I finish (fingers crossed)
I've nearly finished the turtle
Still not sure what I will do for the stars though

De Chelonian Mobile (The Turtle Moves)

After putting it down for around a year, I have finally finished
This is the biggest project I have done, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Hopefully my parents will get it properly framed for me for christmas.
I altered the initial pattern, as I didn't like the elephants. Here is the updated pattern:
And for colours I used DMC
greens - 890, 910, 906, 581, 733, 734
blues - 3482, 3483, 996, 813, 3841
yellows - 727, 728, 729
greys - black, unknown dark, 645, 646, 647, white
