Maybe it's because I'm a control freak/cloth sadist, but I enjoy the stabbing method. Neater stitches. Less knots. I can pretend it's someone's face if I'm mad....

I have now attempted the sewing technique... and I fell flat on my face. I'm notorious for getting knots in my thread, and it happened with every stitch.

I tried the sewing way myself, but just couldn't do it. My mom did it easily, but I also watched her untangle far more knots than I ever had to deal with!

Okay, after seeing all the comments about it being faster I decided that instead of trying the sewing method myself, I would just time me work to see how many stitches I could do in an hour. My results? I'm averaging about 150. Piercing method is good enough for me

I tried the sewing method last night, and I don't know if it is because I am used to hand embroidery and hand sewing, but it was super easy for me. I was able to almost double my speed and didn't have any problems with knots. I think I am going to become a sewer!

I'm a sewer. Probably comes from the rest of my embroidery, but I get frustrated with finding the backside hole with stabbing. I'm all about efficiency! And sewing is way more efficient.

Haha that's great...
I normally stab but the sewing method is much faster for long rows, and if you do it right, you can keep your thread REALLY neat and flat. So iguess I'm a combo sewer now.

I'm a stabber! And I think I can work pretty quickly too.
And the sewing technique doesn't seem to combine very well with a hoop.

I've never tried the sewing technique - just thinking about it feels weird. Like holding the phone to the wrong ear.

or a q-snap for that matter! I am a stabber for sure but I am prettty fast at that method....but I can see using the sewing method for certain things especially if you are a lap stitcher meaning you just keep it in your hands while you stitch instead of using a hoop!Myu wrote:I'm a stabber!
