Oh man, absolutely hate this. Sometimes you try to finish that last one or two stitches with what little thread you have left, and then realize that you may have gotten away with finishing those, but you're left with nothing to thread in the end with into the back of the work.

Knots also drive me crazy. I've had a few instances where I don't notice the knot right away, and it gets tight, and I cannot get the knot out, so I end up having to cut the thread at the knot.

BACKSTITCHING and French Knots.

I have 3 projects right now that are finished other than the backstitch and I can't get myself to finish the darn backstitching....

Seems like I'll be the odd person out but I love backstitching! You know that the whole project is coming to an end and it always looks so much better with the outline!

But I hate mistakes and I always seem to make them. I don't know what it is about me and counting but I always seem to get it wrong but don't notice until days later and there is no way in hades that I'm going to go back and undo any of it so I have to adjust the pattern so you hopefully won't notice the mistake when I'm done! There have been very few things I've stitched that I haven't had to adjust part way though!

And I'm with you on the french knots. They still look like crap even though I've been doing this for 15 years!

that, and when your thread gets a knot in it. the knot is of course easy to get out usually but it's annoying nonetheless, lol
use smaller lengths they say - keep letting your thread dangle so it unwinds every now and then they say
but oh no- i get knots anyways. forever in knots :o right when i'm in the zone too.
ugh, I had a horrible knot just 20 minutes ago that I ended up tangling worse and had to cut out. :banghead:
Current Project(s): How much time do you have? LOL

I have an issue with starting a new cross stitch. Finding the best place to start.... making sure you don't cut the fabric too short....

Also taking out stitches when you mess up! That is wicked frustrating. :moog

I don't mind 95% of the things I have to do in stitching, but that 5% that I do is made up of knots and tucking in the string. When I try to tuck, it's very tight and have stabbed myself too many times trying to get the needle through the back loops. Now, if I can, I let the end dangle and tack it using the the next length.

If you get a pair of needle nose pliers to tuck the stitches in i found my fingers were much safer, especially with plastic aida

The knots...the KNOTS!!!! AND when your thread gets twisted and you have to redo stitches because it comes out too thin. Oy. I get bummed when I'm stitching along and then you turn it over and your have this bulbous knot 20 stitches back that you didn't notice. :banghead:

Yeah, I really hate that too!! Most of the time, I am way too lazy to go back and take out the knot. I mean, it's on the back! Once it's framed, who's going to know? :D
