TURRICAN Perler Bead
Well, here it is - Probably the worlds first TURRICAN perler bead sprite. I think because the game is more of a cult rather than household, that it had not had the chance to be that well known, I could be wrong. I was searching on the Google images, and even all Turrican websites, but sadly I could not find any pics of Turrican perler bead sprites. So I decided to get my lazy back side to work. This is in one piece (however the arm tore off because of moving it around too much) it remains on my floor, I will just have to find a way to mount it on my wall. With me taking my sweet a** time, this took me almost 5 months to complete ( it would actually take me 2 weeks, but I was not in a hurry). Storyline - in the distant future Bren Mc- Guire is the last of the supersoldiers known as TURRICAN. Created after a bloody mutiny of a whole civilization by an artificial intelligence (known as the MACHINE) will have to face an invader from a distant world. Like when the TITANIC hit an iceberg, Turrican 2 hit one itself (metaphorically typing) when the game was rebranded into a tie-in Video game to the 1992 Roland Emmerich movie UNIVERSAL SOLDIER staring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren ( what they did was took Turrican 2 and changed the main character sprite from the original to Van Dammes character and added a couple of new levels and took out the flying missions) To a game that had a pretty good history for fans to begin with, this was the iceberg (again, Metaphorically typing). Sorry for all this rubbish, I could go into a novel if i'm not careful.

- Bren Mc Guire as the TURRICAN universal supersoldier in his assault suit. I had to stand on a ladder to get the whole sprite in the shot.

YAY Turrican! I used to mostly play Turrican 2 on my Amstrad CPC464 until I wore the tapes out >_<
This perler sprite is amazing, congrats~
BTW- I absolutely hated the Universal Soldier re-brand, damn Accolade!

I appreciate the comment! Thank you! Did you ever get to play the AMIGA version? They had always said it was the best version, but I know many who prefer differently.blackmageheart wrote:YAY Turrican! I used to mostly play Turrican 2 on my Amstrad CPC464 until I wore the tapes out >_<

I did get to play the Amiga version briefly (I think it was at a friend's house), so can't give it a full and proper review as such, but as I recall it was pretty goodBuck-Chow-Simmons wrote:I appreciate the comment! That said, I have played it on a few formats and always preferred my lil 464 ^^
