Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
I still havent even decided what to make yet, I am at a lost, I have my supplies, and tons of ideas I just can't decide which one, should I do one piece or multiple pieces? I am at a loss, any suggestions? I am just afraid my person will be upset with my craft, ahh I cant decide, well I gotta figure something out, please, please leave me some feedback:)

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
I guess it depends on how fast you stitch as well. Some people are doing one large one that would take the 3 month duration to stitch, some multiple smaller items and others are doing non-stitch related! It just depends on how much you think you can get done in the remaining time.Jinon wrote:I still havent even decided what to make yet, I am at a lost, I have my supplies, and tons of ideas I just can't decide which one, should I do one piece or multiple pieces? It took me ages to focus on an idea because I had so many! After a lot of false starts, I finally stuck with an idea that was completely different to my original one and it has turned out much better than the false starts ever did.
If you're at a loss like I was... maybe just don't go for the obvious (in terms of idea). Have a read through your swap partner's survey again and find a focus/narrow down your ideas into achievable goals!

If you're at a loss I think I'd personally start with a small project, just pick an idea and go with it...don't over think it.
better to do something small and decide you don't like it, then a huge project.

I agree with johloh. A lot of times when I'm stuck for an idea (usually while making an illustration), I just start doodling, and then ideas grow from that. So in that respect, pick one of the smaller projects that you have been thinking of, and that can be your jumping off pointjohloh wrote:If you're at a loss I think I'd personally start with a small project, just pick an idea and go with it...don't over think it.

Either you'll be happy with the results, and most likely get even more inspiration from completing it, or you decide you don't like it, but it wasn't a huge time investment, so it's okay.
And I know it's hard to do, but really I wouldn't stress too much on trying to think wether your partner will like it or not, because I think all of us can honestly say we're just happy to participate, and to get something in return

agree ^
Because my swap partner had down a few games that i had never played before, i hit up a few of those games' forums, gave me an idea into what could be done (then i completely changed my mind and started something else!)
Finally got some time to get into my project, all i had to do was wait for a bank holiday so work couldn't harass me! eeeeee, getting excited again

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
I'm doing a total of five pieces. 4 small dolls and a small rug, all made by crocheting and all based from the same game. ^_^ Just finishing up my test piece for the rug one tonight and then I'll start working on the craft swap full time so hopefully I'll be done by the beginning of May!
Also getting super excited to see what everyone gets! ^_^

What a great idea Techno! I got lucky and as soon as I read my persons favorite game I got a really good idea. I can't wait to finish this move to start piecing the quilt. I have been able to cut all my squares. I am planning on spending 2 solid weeks quilting non stop.

I also got quite lucky as my partner's list of favourite games were all ones that I know well...and like other people here I ditched my first few ideas and came up with a better one
I'm about halfway through the stitching and I intend to make a collection of little random items - so far I'm on track to get em all done ^^

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
Glad to hear of everyone's updates!
I'm finished with my largest project, and about halfway done with the next biggest. I have two more smaller projects after that, so I feel I'm right on schedule too
I'm having a lot of fun making all these different things! I can't wait to see what everyone gets xD
