Shoop da Woop Khezu amigurumi

Post by Kujikiri »

Hey everyone,

I figure I ought to post some of my previous crafts here, so here's a little video game crochet, with a... different... twist. This is a Khezu, a monster from the video game Monster Hunter. I'm not actually sure if Sprite Stitch is more geared towards the old school sort of video game, or if this is acceptable or not.

Anyway, this is a Khezu I made for my friend for Christmas one year. We're big into Monster Hunter. However, I had seen a picture of a "Shoop da Khezu" on DA, and thought that it was a pretty funny idea. I kind of extrapolated from other amigurumi models to get the shape of the body I wanted, added some wings, then stitched a suction cup to the end of its tail. In the video games, Khezu likes to hang upside down from the ceiling. For its face, I used yarn and plastic canvas, and crocheted a couple of white balls for eyes. Let me know what you think!

I really like this! I'm not sure I've seen any Monster Hunter crochet before. :)

It's totally acceptable! We craft all the games, old and new :D

Learn how to create a 'magic circle' - pretty much five or six single crochets in a chain, to make a ring - then it's all a matter of increasing or decreasing to get the shape you want. I've only done like three small projects with crochet, so I wouldn't say it's a super high-level technique.

Also, if you like Monster Hunter, I've got a Congalala project lying around my house, I should probably take some pictures and post it.
