I delved into a new craft this weekend, etching glasses .
I used Armour Etch from Hobby Lobby; for a first attempt I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Does anyone who has experience using that product have any advice on how to make the etched part look less splotchy/more even? Thanks!
I had no idea it was possible to do this without owning a factory! Now I have to hunt this down... *sigh* Yet another craft to become entrenched it. ^_^
I love armor etch, one year everybody in my family got an etched item for xmas. I've found that putting on a thick layer of the armor etch helps with the splotchy-ness. Since it can be reused over and over I would just scrape what I could off the glass and put it back in the jar, so even though I used more it wasnt wasteful. I Hope this helps.
Very nice! I love trying new crafts. I once said that it was my goal to try every single craft available at Hobby Lobby.
I would never be able to tell that it was your first attempt. Great job!
