After inquiring as to what she used to re-enforce hers, I decided to give it a shot! I couldn't get mine to look as beautifully perfect as hers, but I tend to rush into these things too much, I must learn to stop doing that!
Time taken: Too long.
I worked solidly on it for almost two days. In 12 hour sessions....
Material used:
-Silver textured vinyl for the outer, back and sides
-Waterproof red and yellow material for the details, grey waterproof inside lining, grey bias on the inside edges, hot glued into place
-Blue imitation oil cloth for the royal blue pattern
-Domed studs for the rivet detailing
-Gold, Silver and Red Metallic 1000m Madeira threads (good Lord, they don't come cheap!) for the appliqué
-Webbing and backpack clasps to adjust the straps
-Grey zipper kind of hastily sewn in. (I should really look at doing it a bit better!)
Unfortunately, the bag isn't fully waterproof. It can hold off a little rain or light shower, but I did a litmus test at weekend and it rained all day and kind of seeped through eventually D:
Still kind of groovy though I guess. I need to re-enforce the straps as my broad shoulders tend to pull and put strain on the straps somewhat.
Many thanks to my lovely friend *Kidura on DA for the end photo!
Thanks also to ~yoshi12345786 also on DA, whose lineart helped me to create the patterns (though I tweaked them slightly)
Thanks for looking!
