Since I didn't see a response to your question yet, yes, there is a scroll frame I recommend. It's rather expensive at Jo-Anns and Michael's, but it uses velcro strips to hold the piece to the bars. It's also made of polished wood and has a lap stand attachment you can purchase for it. ... I'm at work so I can't get the brand name... gonna go to the google machine... I want to say it's "the Original Lap Frame with Scroll Frame," but it doesn't look right... but it's at Michael's for sure. There are five sizes of bars and three or four sizes of the side holder things. With the velcro it helps prevent sagging in the middle of the project which is a life saver. I'm working on a 12x14 project (Woodland Enchantress) on one of the frames with the lap stand and it's great.

Anyway. I was wondering... does this kit have any backstitching? I can't find a detailed enough picture to blow up and look. Someone else mentioned the Lion King one, so now both of these are on my wish list. I'm working on so many other things though that I'm going to have to put these on the back burner. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see the finished piece!

Sixteen Weeks!
Baaah! Okay so to be honest, my original goal was to have this done in 6 months. That is not going to happen :) It's okay, I know I am making good progress, this is just my first really big cross stitch so I had no idea what was realistic.
I stitched the gate and the bridge this week! That and the green fields and Belle's house on the other side of the river.
StitchWitch: Yes, there is quite a bit of backstitching in this piece, as with all of the Kinkade Disney pieces I'm pretty sure. There will also be lots of flowers that will be done by french knots. I like to leave all of that stuff until the very end, because it finishes it so much and it gives me something to look forward to. And don't worry about having a lot of projects already lined up - we are cross stitchers, it's what we do! :)
Anyway, here are my pictures this week, an overall and a close-up

Also, about the scroll frame -
I ordered one from Joann's online, it's the EZ frame or something like that. I used a coupon so I got it for about $30 after shipping, but it came with 2 different size side extender bars and 3 different size scroll rods. They have the velcro, too, and I do really like how it holds all the way across. I'm not looking forward to having to buy more velcro, but that is a ways in the future so I'll just let Future Jenilee worry about that :)

Your posts have pretty much made me want to buy this kit. I'm torn between this one and the Lion King... waiting for more progress on that one to make my decision :)

Beautiful work!!

Awwww, thanks :) Like I have said a million times already, I am really enjoying this kit. I am working on the waterfall-type area and it seems to be going pretty fast. I'm excited to get to the castle and do some backstitching someday! :)

Seventeen Weeks:
Another week gone. I wasn't able to stitch as much as I wanted to this week due to a bunch of orchestra stuff that I needed to do, but I still got an okay amount done. Pretty much just water and a little of the hillside, but the water is almost totally done up until the first overpass. I think next week will be lots of hillside. I also am starting a part time job in the evenings tomorrow that will just go for a couple of weeks, so I will probably not get much time in at all. I shall still try! Anyway, here is my progress this week, sorry it's a little blurry. The second picture is better:
