crochet Midna hat

Post by BunnieBard »

So I was trying to think of something Zelda I HAVEN'T crocheted, because off the top of my head...

Two Link sweaters (the green tunic and blue crawfish pajamas), fingerless gloves with a Triforce on the back of the left one, a Link hat, a young-OoT-Zelda hat, a Hylian Shield backpack, a Master Sword pencilcase, coasters that look like Spiritual Stones and ocarina / heart pieces and and container, obnoxious bell fairy keychains, little Link and Zelda plushes, biggger Link and Zelda plushes, a Loftwing plush, and a giant Triforce pillow...

...is a very long list! In the end I went with something a bit more new-school: a Midna hat.

What d'y'all think? I'm conflicted about the little gray eye, and there's no good way to do all the etched designs on her helmet... I tried with some various colors of floss to embroider it on, but nothing sticks out enough on the gray.... any ideas?

It's awesome! :D
Never thought of a Midna hat...I'd wear that for sure.

You tried just going with black thread? Perhaps doubling up on thread might make it stand out a little more...not really sure what else to suggest for that though >_<

Very nicely done! Love the accuracy you've got here and you're right, a Midna hat is not something most people would think of to crochet. :)

To do the detail, I recommend back-stitching it on with black yarn. I've run into the same issues of the embroidery floss just not standing out enough over the yarn as well, and using yarn instead tends to work for me. :nod
