WIP Video Game Quilt

Ok so... I'm just starting on a video game quilt. My plan is to applique several different video game squares and then quilt them together. Its for the family room where we have all the consoles. My plan is to primarily focus on games that the bf and I have played (together at times) so that includes Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, Metroid, Zelda, FFXI, and Katamari at least.

I haven't ever appliquéd before, but I figure I'll be a pro by the time I'm done.

So here's the first square I've started.... its the Zerg emblem from Starcraft 2:

I needed to take a step back from lots of curves and pointy bits... so... square two was a simple Tri-force!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Hopefully have a trip planned to the fabric store again today to get yet more materials.
