Metool Secret Box

Post by nintendophile »

Finally finished up my latest piece! It's a Metool who's more than meets the eye...
Spoiler

SURPRISE! He's a little box. A SECRET box.

I wanted to make it so that if you just saw him sitting on a shelf, you'd have no idea that he was a box. He'd just look like an (awesome) Metool figure. It was a bit of a challenge to sculpt, but I'm rather pleased with the results.

I wanted to make the helmet hollow as well, so that there'd be a bit of extra room to fit taller things.

Let me know what you guys think! Any ideas for other secret boxes? I was thinking maybe a Goomba...

Just curious what is it made out of? It came out really good and a goomba sounds awesome.
A Stitch is Worth... How much is a stitch worth?

Thanks, dude! He's mostly made out of air-drying clay. This is the brand I used:

Some plaster and spackle was used here and there as well, to get a nice, smooth finish. But I really recommend that brand of clay. It cures quite nicely without having to be baked, and can be sanded smooth once dry. ^_^

You got the mad skillz, nintendophile.

I like it! I'd love to see a Metroid Energy Tank box (or something along those lines) :D

Thanks! ^_^ A Metroid energy tank is an awesome idea, and definitely do-able, I should think. What style would you think it should be in? SNES? That might have to be the next thing I start on! ^_^

SNES, yes - the Super Metroid one is the nicest in my opinion - and I think it'd make an awesome box! :D
