Questions about cross stitch.

I'm going to try out some Pokemon patterns, and I have a question about the outline.

When I start a colour (like black) should I do ALL the black stitches at once, do about half, or thread a couple needles and move along the pattern left to right? Or start with a different colour?

I like to do all the black/outlining first, then it's easier to just fill the rest in as you go along. But it's all up to you, there really is no right or wrong way to cross stitch. Good luck!

About the same here. I try to do most of the black outline first, it motivates me to keep going seeing the outline and it does make it easier to fill in.
My mother always taught me to start in the center of the pattern no matter what but I usually find my center, count out and start from upper left to bottom right. I do it that way because I'm right handed and it feels more natural and I don't end up rubbing the side of my right hand over the finished stitches.
I also don't believe there is a right or wrong way to start, you just need to find what is comfortable for you and go from there!

I do the outlines first too. I like to think it's a fail safe if it's all counted out right, so when I fill it in I can't add or miss a stitch (as I sometimes do!) if my stitching area is already there.

Thank you all. Doing the outline first is how I drew it on KG-Chart for the reasons mentioned above (mainly just to make sure all the fill-in colours would be counted right), but I wasn't sure if it would transfer the same physically.

I try not to jump across any gaps while stitching, because i often make mistakes and have to rip stitches out.

I.e. if I was stitching the red spots on toad, I would do one spot. then do the white area around it rather then trying to count out the space between the next red spot.
