TabbiP stitchings

Post by TabbiP »

Hi
Just thought I would post some cross stitch things I have done.
I havent done any computer game related stuff yet just samples really, but I have done some computer geekery.....

Remote Control Pocket

The actual fabric pocket is from ikea I just did the logos.

Also husband suggested seeing if a QR Code would work in cross stitch, so first I did one for my baby's website, but after finding that it did work I made a spritestitch one.

Then we wanted to see if it would work with black fabric and white stitches so that I could sew it on my black nappy bag! So below shows the same code done both ways. (links to my baby's site)

(please don't ask me about qr codes, I only know I have a thing on my Iphone that reads them!!!)

Ohh I like those QR codes! Very cool :D

Nice remote holder too, wish I had one...but it'd need a lot more pockets >_<;

Yeah there is no space for our actual TV remote, but there is a pocket behind for magazines, or in our case a wireless keyboard

Haha, that's the way things work at my house as well. ;)

Very cute idea though (the remote case holder).
You asked me not to ask what qr codes were so I'll just say it's pretty.
Hello? Are you still there?

Thanks!
The only reason I said not to ask me is coz I cant really answer anything! I don't know much about them other than you can scan them with an Iphone app (some other phones too) and they store info....... eg these ones will take you to www.spritestitch.com or my baby son's website, but can be loads of different things. Apparently they are replacing bar codes!?
I have now sewn the the white stitch/black aida one onto our nappy bag.

OK I'll help out here... Quick Response codes were invented in Japan, oh about 15 years ago? I forget. Anyways, it is like a bar code, they used to use them in car factories for tracking parts (I know this cos I used to be friends with someone who worked for Nissan). Now in Japan, they put them all over, like on signs and billboards and I've seen a picture of one on a restaurant menu :D They generally show text or link to an URL when read by a mobile phone cam, most phones in Japan can do that I think.
In the UK (not sure about other countries) they're on a few things - examples in my house right now are Fairy liquid, a Fuji camera, Raid fly spray. I'm can't remember what they show when read but it'll be linked to the product no doubt.
They'll probably become more popular as more people have the reader apps available :)

Sorry to bore you but hope that info helps! :D

That's actually very interesting. I haven't heard about them until now. It sounds like a solid idea. Is it because bar codes are too limited or what? I guess I'll have to Google and do my research. ;)

Oh, it worked ok on mine. Try just moving further away? It doesn't have to fill the screen.
Thanks blackmageheart for the info. I like the idea of them and cant help but scan things when I see them! I was quite impressed that they worked as a cross stitch.
