That is pretty awesome, curious did you glue the pieces together or were you really hardcore and melted the center seam?? Also did you have a reference or did you just kind of do trial and error for the pieces? Great job!

Oh wow. That is so amazing! Did you find a pattern for the pieces or did you create them yourself? That is so awesome looking. Puts a fun twist on playing chess.

the idea and design are not mine, i found some pictures online somewhere (not a pattern) and used that to make everything. There is no glue or extra melting...the pieces are "sleeved" together. I did however have to trim at certain points with a knife for a better fit. The base has four holes in it, so the two "sleeves" snap into the holes.

That thought didn't even cross my mind but it makes much better sense then melting or gluing them together, I bet they will have better longevity that way. Whether it was your idea or not it is still pretty awesome and must have been pretty time intensive. Awesome and thanks for sharing the assembly of it.

Here is another 3D perler i did. I found the pattern on perler.com through searching google images. This one was a real headache to snap together. When they say dont iron too much for ease of assembly, they really mean it.
