81 colors sounds better than 24 lol
i like the image. but tbh it scares me a lil. many light colors and that ground ... oh that ground!! So many colors in there.. haha but if you manage to put all together is going to be a loooooovely piece of art.

Re: WIP - Monkey Island Ghost Pirate Ship [02/11/2014 - FROZ
I, myself, ordered that card as well awhile back. It's helped me when I make patterns. Definitely worth it, I'd say!La Ptite Bete wrote: Now I really want to start it... but before I order, I want to check every REAL color... so I ordered a DMC Stranded Cotton Shade Card. It's expensive, but it will avoid me to do the same mistake again. Now I'll be able to check every pattern I made with KG Chart, with real thread colors... that's worth it.
Here is the pattern I'd like to stitch...
It's from the excellent game Monkey Island 2 : LeChuck's Revenge (with original graphics, not the moot special edition)
What do you think about it... ? Promising or doomed to failure ?
As for the pattern, go for it if you really like it! I've never played any of the Monkey Island games, so I don't get the context, but I think it looks very nice. Are you planning on cropping the picture any, or do the whole thing?

Thanks for your replies, HornyPig & Kareesh
Yes, it's gonna be a lot more difficult than my first pattern, but nevermind. It's worth it !
And yes, I plan to stitch the whole image ! Even if it takes me ages
lol

Re: WIP - Monkey Island Ghost Pirate Ship [02/11/2014 - FROZ
Just saw this thread. I know nothing about Monkey Island but the colors of the Ghost Ship were awesome. Shame the blend of DMC reds wasnt working out
. I had the same problem with some greys in a current project Ive got going on. I was to far in so I just tried adjusting around it but it was certainly frustrating. Any chance of trying to eyeball some reds that stand out more? The other image you picked looks cool too. Lot more going on. Well Good Luck with it!

Hello BigDaddy !!!
Thank you very much for your reply. In fact, I'll try to redo my Ghost Pirate Ship pattern ; now I've got my DMC stranded cotton shade card. But I'll let this project "frozen" for the moment. I'll have to "unstitch" (do you say that ? I don't think so lol, sorry) a large amount of red stitches, so... I can't just "adjust arount it" like you did... there are only 24 colors, I want them to match perfectly... I'll wait a bit. When I'm no longer like that :
^^
Thanks for your support with my new project !!! I can't wait to start... in fact, I'll have to wait... till I get paid
while waiting, I have to pick up some good colors in my card...

I'd start the Pirate Ship again right now, if somebody would like to unstitch my red stitches for me... I hate to undo what I've done (cross stitch, knitting aso...)

I very much dislike taking out my stitches, and since your wanting to take out just the reds it would be even worse. Usually I take a seam ripper to mine but you have to be careful, I've ripped my fabric before, that was a sad sad day.La Ptite Bete wrote:I'd start the Pirate Ship again right now, if somebody would like to unstitch my red stitches for me... Me too... I hate when I have to unstitch, sometimes I prefer to restart the project in other cloth :| If there was a ctrl+Z at cross stitch I would be so much happierLa Ptite Bete wrote:I'd start the Pirate Ship again right now, if somebody would like to unstitch my red stitches for me...
