Hey, I can't sign up on the googledocs from my work computer. But I am definitely down for this. Depending on the length of time we have to do this, I can do a couple of squares. It doesn't matter much to me which character I have. I'll make whatever I'm assigned work for me, whether it's Mario or Megaman, I can do it!

Just curious I didn't mark any games from the themed quilt games on my Misc section if we end up not doing a particular theme can we edit our top three games for the misc quilt before games are assigned? I know depending on the theme quilt it might change my top three misc games. Also if no one requests our 2nd and/or 3rd choice are we allowed to do multiple squares for the misc quilt?

I don't see why not as long as you don't wait until the last second. I'm thinking of just assigning everyone that picks the same game a number, and then randomly picking a number to see who gets first dibs. Just know that if we don't have enough for a mario quilt you may not get first dibs if everyone switches to mario for the misc. It seems like we'll be able to do a little something for all of themes if people don't mind doing the quilting. So far I'm impressed with the variety of games people want to do, so there's little to no overlap for the "misc" quilt.

I'm also thinking for the really popular games that it'll probably be fine to do more than one square in the misc quilt from the same game as long as its not the same character (if this even becomes an issue). What do people think of that?

Again, I personally don't see why not, it just depends how much people are willing to quilt. This might be a bit harder to coordinate though, maybe I should do a lottery type system for 2 and 3 if there's any overlap there too? I know I'm willing to do a few squares, so if we don't have quite enough for a misc wall-hanging I can crank out another square or two so no one's work isn't included.

Ok cool once we finalize themed quilts I can make any adjustments and yeah I don't mind doing multiple squares for either section really misc or themed I was just curious if the option to do more would be there incase people finish early and wanted to do more.

I don't mind doing all of the quilting. I need more charity work for my resume ;) It is simple enough to quilt so I can do it between commissions.

Just let me know what blocks go in each quilt and if it needs to be larger I can add more material so the borders (around each square).

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here, but what do you think a good deadline would be for sending you the squares to quilt? Lets assume we get enough for 1 lap blanket sized misc and 2 various sized themed. You said earlier it would take you about a week to finish one, but I'm sure you have others to do also. Child's Play usually starts up in early November with a charity dinner in early-ish December. I would think auctioning these off in early December would be our best timing. Of course we could sell these any time, but if we line it up with the charity I think we're likely to get a little more.

Also, if you haven't done it yet please fill in the sheet if you're interested.

I thought this was going to be something for next year?
Lots of people seem really busy with chirstmas projects and it would be a shame for them to miss out. Plus the logo for spite stitch is the current monthly challenge and the chosen design (if johloh likes it) should be included on the quilt and deadline for that is 31st Dec.
As there is no rush really it should be something that goes on for a long time to enable everyone to have a chance to contribute.
The longer we have the more squares we can make, so more quilts so more money! :)

I agree, given how long some of the swaps have taken I really think the earliest would be next fall. I don't quilt myself, but I understand that it can take quite some time to put everything together. Just a thought, I don't know if you were thinking of next year anyway.

haha, maybe I should have put a year on there, I meant NEXT December. I wouldn't even expect to be able to get my own done in that amount of time
