I've been making brooches

Made this one for my girlfriend for christmas, I was inspired by the carpet in the shining.

This one was for a craft swap with a friend on another site, I got the pattern from an old japanese painting, it was on one of those paper walls.

And finally this one which I made for my granny after she expressed an interest in the last one I made and offered to pay me to make one for her, I of course didn't accept the money, but made her one anyway.

Wow! Cakester, those brooches are fantastic! I love the one inspired by the carpet in the 'Shining' - very creative!

Well I got some of these http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/product_352230009.htm and some of these http://www.gjbeads.co.uk/html/product.p ... _pk10.html, wrapped the finished embroidery over the 1st bit and then glued the 2nd bit to the back along with a disk of felt to prevent it from wearing away the fabric it's worn on.
Quite simple to do really, but effective.

I'm definitely going to try making a few myself. Probably some 1-up brooches or something :)

I made this one a couple of weeks ago now, it's the first of four hounds tooth patterned brooches I'm making for when I eventually start up my own etsy shop.

Also I'll post this one up here despite the fact that I've already posted it in another thread, for the sake of it being a brooch it belongs here too.

Hah,
I said this to my girlfriend, as I didn't notice till I was a way into stitching it.
The same thing happened with the brown and orange one with the red 'I' there's loads in that, she asked if I think i might have a problem, I'm starting to wonder myself.....
