So I've posted a few things on this forum and I need some help...not with my projects (though I COULD use some ideas...looking at you Shampoo! HINT HINT!) what I need help with is more technical.
1. When I post a picture here...it's HUGE! What is like the generally universal size that allows people to see alot of the picture without it being so ridiculously huge that it takes up a massive amount of the screen to do so.
2. How do those "Spoiler" things work?
Any advise would be massively appreciated...and as a side bonus...the better I get at the technical side of the site, the more motivation I'll have to keep making new projects! ^^
Think about it....

hey! i hear you need some help
1 - when the image is put into those "quote" things it makes it smaller i believe. if not, using something like photobucket allows you to post an image at 50% or whatever you choose, so should fit better.
2 - the spoiler thing is quite easy. just like when you put an image in your post you click the "Img" button up on the post editor, well if you press "Spoiler" first it puts it in a hidden little bit. that means that when your topic/post is seen, loads and loads of images dont load, and its the persons choice if they look at it.
I hope that helps, if theres anything else, just holla, although i should say (and the mod will most likely move it anyway) that this sort of thing should be put in the *Sprite Stitch Board! ‹ Miscellaneous section

3 - on the top right hand corner of someones post theres a "quote" button. press it and you will be taken to the post editor, where the quote will be put in already for you, just right after it or before it. you can also edit it slightly too, but anything more than just cutting it down would be taken as taking something out of context/putting words in someones mouth. the quote thing is used so if you have a specific comment you can address that person only, (see above).Unorez wrote:Oh yah...another thing I don't get...how does that "Quote"...thingy work?

Re: Camera Troubles And Other Such Whinings...
I usually try to keep my file size under 100k; when I make a jpeg in Photoshop to do this, it generally turns out around 640x480 or so. If your picture looks fine at 300x200, then use that. I like to make it as small as possible (not smaller than 300x200) but keep the details I want to be noticed. It also depends on the picture, but I never really see a need for one to be bigger than, say, 1000 in any direction.Unorez wrote:1. When I post a picture here...it's HUGE! Highlight (in what you are posting) whatever you want "spoiled". Then click the spoiler button just above your text (right-most button, next to the font colour).2. How do those "Spoiler" things work?
In addition, if you want to hide a picture in a spoiler, like Lord Libidan said, upload the picture. Then, below where you're typing, you should see "posted attachments" and in that area, a "place inline" button. Click that, and text will appear in your message (something like yourfilename -- extra space added so the code would show up). Highlight that text that just appeared, then click the spoiler button, and voila... it's spoiled!
I'm too poor to pwn, so I r3nt.

Re: Camera Troubles And Other Such Whinings...
I found a post about it that I copied in a word document that helps me, unforturnately I don't remember who originally posted it. So the guidelines I post are NOT mine, all credit to the original poster. If this is bad taste please let me know and I'll never do it again I just found this so very helpful I want to share it and since I don't remember who posted it I can't link.

Good luckI use photobucket, it's free, and post pictures from my computer onto there, then go under edit, for the picture I want to post, click resize, and under "preset sizes" I choose medium, and save over the original. (I choose medium because any size larger, and a part of the picture gets cut off in a spoiler tag, or you would have to scroll left and right without the tag, which is just a pain in the butt for me, I know, lazy) Then I just copy the IMG code for the pic from photobucket and paste it in the post I'm creating, and I use spolier tags now, which I think are one of the best ideas since sliced bread, and post the post.
