We'll I don't know about the art community per say, but we post canvas using spray cans. I think its a great idea.

Graffiti is definitely coming into its own I think. Folks like Banksy have really raised what to expect and changed how it's perceived- for the better. I'm sure it would be welcome for the art even if not everyone gets your medium (although personally I'd love to see something like that)
