Turning finished projects into patches?

Post by OhSnap9292 »

Has anyone done this before? It seems like a fun idea. I don't mean embroidered patches, I want cross stitch ones but would the cloth hold up? Would I have to do something special to the edges?

That's a really awesome idea! I've got some small stuff I've done that would be neat as patches. I would think you'd need to do *something* to the edges, but I'm not sure what it would be.

You could double hem the edges, that is fold it over and press it then fold it over again and press it so the raw edge is hidden then sew it. Another choice is waste canvas on standard fabric so it won't unravel as easily as evenweaves like aida.
