Pattern Making Issues

Post by jeala »

Hey everyone! I hope this is in the right place.

In the past, I used KG Chart as well as PC Stitch to make patterns. I used both for making patterns of sprites, mainly. After the first couple of times on KG Chart, I couldn't get them to turn out. They would be really pixelated. I was told once, I forget where (whether here or elsewhere) that I needed to use a smaller image for sprites. Is this the same for 'regular' images?

I had a friend ask me to make a cross stitch for her of the Tardis (and if you are as noobish as I, it's a Dr Who time travel box). I put that into PC Stitch this time. For the life of me, no matter what picture I use, I cannot get it to look halfways decent. There is one picture I was able to get that defaults to the size she wants (5 inches wide by 7 inches high), but it looks like crap, every time. No matter what count of aida I use or no matter how many different colours of thread I use, I can't get it to come out clear.

Does anyone know if I'm doing anything wrong, or if I'm just out of luck? Thanks for any help in advance!
