I have an idea for a project in my head, but haven't found any pictures or guides of exactly what i had in mind. I want to make a frame for a photo within a larger picture frame (my dogs, their pictures with a cross stitched matte type deal) if that makes any sense at all haha, I dont know how to finish off the edges of the hole for the photo.
First, I'd recommend plastic canvas instead of traditional Aida. You'll probably find that it cooperates better. To finish my edges, I use a whipstitch. This person explains it pretty well. (It's about two thirds of the way down the page.) http://www.craftdesigns4you.com/learntostitchpc.htm

Thanks I used to do plastic canvas all the time when I was a kid. I found a plastic Adia at my craft store last time i was there, that would work perfect
When your done, can you post pics? I've been contemplating having a picture matted and framed, but I'd much rather cross stitch the matting if I can to make it more personal.

Hah, I totally know that feeling! Between my partially completed 14 count projects, 7 count projects, and beading, I don't know when any of them will actually get done. Not to mention my rapidly growing list of things I want to do! LOL
