Plastic canvas vs. perforated paper???

I have the 14ct sheets made by Darice, which are what you could describe as perforated plastic and they label it as plastic canvas. Very confusing! Probably easier to refer to them by count

I just looked at my package and it's by Darice too! I see the "fine print" of plastic canvas now though, haha. Possibly I was excited to find it and/or blind.

From what I've seen perforated plastic (or perforated paper) is made by having a sheet of the paper/plastic then punching a load of holes in it which can leave less space between the holes. The plastic canvas is like a mesh created from strands of plastic and those strands have to be a certain thickness to work so the stitch itself comes out chunkier even on the same count canvas vs perforated matter.

I know what you mean! When I think of plastic canvas, I think of the thick square mesh (I think it's 7 count...?) and the perforated plastic as a hole-filled sheet like pictured above. Maybe it's a regional thing.
