I do B) myself. I just find it easier to keep track of where I'm at that way. I also like to start in the middle and work my way out...I usually end up going and doing the top half before the bottom. for some reason it's easier for me that.

I do b most of the time. If I have to work up or down I normally just do one cross stitch at a time though.

Re: What is your stitching order?
Is it weird I do a & c combined? I take the full colors necessary and half stitch, then go my way back to complete the full stitch. I usually do blocks of all the same color (it's how I got int the predicament I am now with my Lili stitch!
) so that's what I do.
I occassionally do b, but a & c seem t owork best. I should try out d and b some more. See if I like it.
Also I tend to start my projects BACKWARDS, as in from bottom to top. I usually do most plastic canvas work and that helps, but I think from now on I'll be marking my placements.
It's just more orderly than what I do.

Re: What is your stitching order?
I'm curious about those who say they stitch the full cross stitch everytime. I always read that the back of your pattern should always be all vertical lines. But how do you do this when stitching the full stitch? Or do you just not have the "perfect back"?
My OCD demands I be as organized and clean as possible lol. I don't even carry my thread to the next stitch if there is any gap in that color at all, but I read others say they will skip up to 3 or even 5 spaces.

I do the full cross (almost) everytime. Do I have the "perfect back"? Definitely not. Quite frankly, I don't care! It's tidy and secure and that's all that really matters to meDulahey wrote:I'm curious about those who say they stitch the full cross stitch everytime. So you have diagonal lines on the back? That's good to know. I was going out of my way to make sure almost everything was vertical on the back because that's what I had read you were supposed to do at a couple different sites.blackmageheart wrote:I do the full cross (almost) everytime. It seems like the right answer is just do whatever you want to do.

Re: What is your stitching order?
I have diagonal lines, vertical lines, horizontal lines and a few lines that I think I may have invented! Well...not really but you know what I mean! They are all over the place, but like I said they are tidy enough and that's fine with meDulahey wrote:So you have diagonal lines on the back?
It's the only answer! I don't subscribe to the belief that there is only one way of doing things. Sure there are good or efficient ways of doing your stitching but when it comes down to it, I think you should just go with what feels comfortable and right for youDulahey wrote:I was going out of my way to make sure almost everything was vertical on the back because that's what I had read you were supposed to do at a couple different sites.

Re: What is your stitching order?
I seem to do whatever seems to fit the pattern best, haha. Since KG-Chart doesn't handle blending (or does it and I just don't know how?), I sometimes stitch entire areas in half stitches so that I can layer different color on top if needed.
And if I make a mistake it's infinitely easier to pick out half stitches. ^^;

I'm all over the place, it really just depends on the pattern and how big my blocks of color are.
And as for the back of the project.......TOTAL MESS! I'm going to most likely frame it anyway so who cares!
I'd love to see the back of someone's project thats used 30+ colors, mine are crazy!
