Combining Images in a Chart?
Hi,
I don't know if someone's already asked this but I searched and couldn't find anything so I'm sorry if it exists but anyways...
I'm trying to learn how to use kg chart and I've produced a relatively successful chart of a simple elephant cartoon but I want to make something slightly more ambitious by combining some pokemon sprites with a short phrase. My question is: how do I create this? Do I combine the pictures in kg chart somehow or put it all together in another programme and convert it all?
I don't know if this is a silly question but help would definitely be appreciated.
Thanks.

Its easiest to combine what you want to combine in a normal image editor like Paint, Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop and then plug it into KG afterwards.

You can have more than one iteration of KG Chart open, and copying / pasting between windows isn't a problem. If you prefer using a visible grid (and your image editor of choice doesn't have a grid, e.g. MSPaint), you shouldn't have any trouble just using KG Chart.
Make sure you edit the chart properties on your main chart to make the field large enough to drop all those sprites where you'll have room to draw selection boxes around them. KG Chart only allows you to select by rectangular box, unlike Paint &c. which have hand-drawn selection options. You can shrink the chart size again once you've gotten everything shipshape.

Re: Combining Images in a Chart?
Ok so, I've tried to make the chart that I want and I basically have what I want its just that the chart has come out MASSIVE!
I've uploaded the chart is kg form and pdf so that you can see. Is there anything I can do to make it smaller? It's already 18 ct so I don't really want to make the ct lower.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Or does it need to be that size to make it look good? It just seems really big to me.

I think it probably needs to be that big to look good. You could try to move the sprites closer together or bring the words higher up, but that might make it look cramped and probably won't make it much smaller as a whole. If you go to the Chart drop-down menu, then to Chart size, you can select "Fit to Data Size" to take away the extra white space around the edges of your pattern. But I think it looks okay the way it is!

Re: Combining Images in a Chart?
Here's a link to the finished pattern in case people haven't found it:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5224
I'd love so feedback on it, whether the colours are right, whether it needs editing, etc...
Hope everyone likes it, I think it came out well.
