Really? Never had an issue with either hoop or frame. In fact, the tighter it is, the easier it is to slip into the next hole I find.

I'm a stabber. I've done sewing before, but you can't do it on plastic canvas (it will rip it to shreds or make your needle wonky) and I've found on smaller (18/22) canvas counts it... bunches(?) on the larger chunks (like.... it's very easy to pull it too tight, so that row of canvas will roll a bit and it's hard to get it to lay flat)

I'm sure with practice that can be avoided. But I'll stick with stabbing until I'm in a tight spot (I sewed the last 2 rows of my mini swap item because it was 9:30 at night and I couldn't see straight anymore XD)

Can't see using any other method, once I do something one way, that's what I'm comfortable with and will stay with it so long as it works.
