Embroidery Patterns?

Post by bethimusprime »

Would anyone happen to know of a website where I could get nerdy patterns for an embroidery machine either free or at a reasonable price? Specifically, I've been looking for anything Batman related :) I've noticed several stores on Etsy that have an embroidered Batman logo (or even the "Pow!" "Wham!" "Zap!" logos), but I can't seem to find anywhere where I could buy the patterns itself. While a lot of the things I've seen are cute, there are some things that I would love to do a little differently. I could always cross-stitch it myself, but that would take a LOT longer than I was planning.

I've never really seen a lot of embroidery work here before, but I'm just hoping that someone might know where to look.

Thanks!!

Im not really up on machine embroidery, but you could turn almost any pic into a simple embroidery design either by using a fill like satin stitch or just outlining in the various colors. Satin stitch and stem stitch take a ton less time than cross stitch too.

I love Urban Threads. I browse their site sometimes which is generally a bad idea for me because then I super want to buy an embroidery machine :(
They don't have Batman stuff I think, but their stuff is so super cute :)

I'll keep the satin stitch idea in mind incase all else fails! I was looking to make several (as in 20ish), so I'm afraid that would still take quiet a lot of time.

I really like Urban Threads too! They're designs are just too cute :D Sadly I don't have my own machine, but my mother has had one for several years now that I think she's only used twice :\ Although she's told me that if I can "figure out how to work it" I can "keep it at my house until she has a need for it" :D While there are tons of possibilities out there, I just have never been able to think of anything that would fit my own style of crafting.

I have to make my own embroidery for my quilts, so I use a converter. It takes the design (has to be simple) and converts it to an embroidery format my machine recognizes. Most of the programs cost well over $600, but I found a great one called Digitize N Stitch. http://amazingdesigns.com/digitize-n-stitch It is $200, but it is well worth the price. There is not a lot of embroidery out there that is free and there are no embroidery programs that are free.

Good Luck!

While $200 is expensive, if it can convert simple images for me, that sounds like it would be worth the price (assuming I did a lot of work). Thanks for that tip! I would have been looking for forever otherwise!
