Help with finishing a latch hook project?

I am having some issues finishing my latch hook project. I made this for my mom for Christmas. She has a small ceramic shop, and the kit looks just like the logo on her business cards. I know she'll love this no matter what, but I'd hate to give it to her without putting my best effort into it. So I really need advice please!

First: The design was stamped onto the canvas crookedly and didn't come with a chart. I think the brush's shape came out a little funny, but I'm not sure where I should change colors to make it look like a real paint brush should look.

Second: I would love to incorporate her business name into the finished piece somehow. It would take up too much room to latch hook it in and still be readable. The only idea I have is to get a wooden plaque to hang the whole project with and write on the plaque with either paint or a router or something like that. But it would have to be a pretty big wood piece to support the weight and to not look silly as the kit is 20"x27". Or I could use a dowel rod and still use the strap idea, but then I don't know how I would put the name in there.

Third: As a last resort, I would make a rug instead. I have the sew-on binding and some paint-on non-stick stuff that I bought from Joanns (http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/prod ... D=prd31098). Has anyone used that before? Do you paint it on first then sew on the binding? Also, will it stain the surface you put it on after it's dry?

I do latchhook rugs a lot. I've never framed them/hung them with wood, so I can't give you much advice there. As far as trying to fit the name in, don't try if you don't think there's enough space. Latchhook rugs don't usually do too well with detail UNLESS you have a lot of space. As for your question about the backing, that's not too difficult. In fact you can find a lot of guides on how to do it online. http://www.ehow.com/how_4897096_bind-la ... k-rug.html here's a guide for iron on binding. For regular binding, you just sew it on with a sewing machine, then resew it to make it attach to the back. Your rug is pretty safe this way (at least that's how I do mine).
