I'm using Spriter 0.3.1 and OSX 10.6.7. I have a version without transparency too, but it does the same thing as this file (half a second of a progress indicator, no .PS file created).
Edit: I've never posted a file before... not sure that's gonna be accessible to you in the way you need it to be. Let me know if I need to upload it some other way.

Aha! It's the alpha channel. I had to flatten it in order for Spriter to work. Ok, I've posted an update to Spriter in the Misc. forum, which will now handle PNGs with indexed RGB and also alpha channels.
