Not sure if this is the right place to put this tbh, but I was wondering what needles to use?
I know size 24 works best for 14 count, but whats the difference between standard, gold, platinum and easy thread? Apart from price and how they look?
Thanks

Re: Needles Question?
i don't like using gold plated needles personally, because i find the gold flakes off of them and it becomes a regular steel (or whatever) needle pretty quickly.
i don't know if there is a difference between those, apart from price and how they look
i just use your standard size 24 metal needles lol

Yeah I would just go with the standard DMC 6 packs. They seem to be the best quality for the price, and if you lose one you still have five more left.

Re: Needles Question?
bumping an old thread i know but i have finally come to the end of my needle supply. The packs i had came with 2 sizes in them- 24 & 26, but which needle is bigger? I know this may sound like a stupid question but i dont want to order more needles only to find out that they are the size i didn't like (only really liked using the small needles in the packs). Do they size using common sense (the larger the needle the larger the number) or paper sizes (the smaller the number the larger the needle)?

Re: Needles Question?
24 is the bigger size I think. I mostly use 18 count aida and the people at the craft shop gave me size 28 for that.techno-ninja wrote:bumping an old thread i know but i have finally come to the end of my needle supply. Re: Needles Question?
With DMC needles, the smaller the number the bigger the needle.I use 24s for standard cross stitch, but I have a pack of 18-22s for plastic canvas.
