I dunno, Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble might give Kirby a run for his money in cuteness. But Kirby is very cute. Oooh wouldn't it be fun to find a game and do all the Kirby versions? Or are they called Kirby Hats? Kirby Transformations? I obviously don't play Kirby games.

I don't play Kirby games either! I had a Kirby game with my original gameboy and could never figure it out! :) But I still think he's cute!

I've only played him in the Smash Bros. series, mostly Melee and Brawl. It was fun to swallow my opponents.

If we were to do a One Game challenge again (which I think is cool) I vote for DragonQuest Heroes: Rocket Slime. The slimes are so cute!

So I know the challenge ends Aug 31... what time zone? I'm in AZ, so I'm at the end of the time zone spectrum and though my goal is to finish before the very end, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm working up until the buzzer... so I want to make sure I don't inadvertently miss the deadline. Heh, thanks :)

Because there are so many time zones involved, generally it ends when I get to my PC the day after the deadline. Which will be Saturday 1st September. So sometime on the Saturday afternoon (UK time) I'll sit down here in my comfy chair with tea and scones and I'll collect the entries up
I think you'll be ok, even if you do work right up to the line. I can be rather lazy on Saturdays (it's the only child-free day I have!) so don't worry about it. Give me a PM if you think you're going to miss it though!

Okay, cool, thanks. I figured it was something like that, but just wanted to check :)

In the entire Kirby franchise, I've only ever played Kirby's Dreamland, the first one...and it was last year!
His last little message at the end was adorable and it made me giggle when he pulled out the little sign that said "bye-bye." So I stitched that, but personalized the message because I'm actually taking a voyage soon (yes, I know "bon voyage" means "good journey," but voyage = boat ride in my brain), because of a new job with a cruise line so it's like my little good-bye. I know it's cheesy. :P

Those are so cute! Ironically I almost did the bye-bye sign too, but figured Kirby would be done over and over, so I went for a miniboss.

Have fun on your voyage!

Once I saw the ending to the original game, I was totally motivated!

The Gameboy graphic really inspired me, so I embellished it and found that the screen had just enough room for the titular character, holding his little sign.

And, I had to stick with the monochromatic palette, since it truly defined the Gameboy.

I really enjoyed this challenge! I admit I was nervous when I saw Kirby's Dream Land as the chosen game, but now I really have to thank those who nominated it!
