First off, I LOVE IT!!

I don't think we can use black as the sashing. There are too many squares with a stitched black background and that poses the same problem as using white. Plus, black is kind of bleh. A lot of our squares have blue and green in them so maybe a colour that will match both of those? I think a neutral kind of golden yellow would work. There's that kind of shade in almost all of them but it's subtle enough.

As for the borders...no idea!

When I made my first quilt (just recently), I spent HOURS picking out colours. The women at the quilt shop probably hated me.

I like that idea.
I was going to suggest a pale or light green, as most of the squares have a green of some kind in them, and it seems as if the ones that don't are all in the centre. A light blue or a golden colour would also work really well, too. But I also like the idea of a pale/light brown, possibly even a sand colour?

I didn't think of a pastel/pale yellow, that would also work. I am going to do the first border the same as the sashing. I will then add additional borders depending on what looks good. Black will probably be one of them.

I will do the backing the same color as the sashing so my quilting thread blends in and doesn't stand out (like it did for the tetris quilt). I want the focus of the quilt to be the squares, not the quilting.

How about a Batik or texture type yellow like (I may not be able to get these exact fabrics, but to give you an idea):

I love that Moda marbley fabric with the swirls! I think a Batik type fabric would be wonderful.

Ok, I am headed out to Joanns and will get working on the sashing tonight. I have an idea for the borders. You will see. I will try to get a shade of light yellow in batik or a blender (like the pictures).

Hopefully more pics tonight! I want to get this done as quickly as I can because I want to show it at the Web Comics Con in Connetticut.
