Stitching for Charity! (brainstorming)

Awesome work guys! I can't wait to see how this turns out. Like tnitnetny if you had things come up we can cover for you. I know once I get started I'm a pretty quick stitcher so it shouldn't be a big deal to cover for a few people.

Now I just need to finish my own squares. I'm a little behind because I just became an uncle and had some work stuff come up, but now I can put my nose to the grind stone.

Been working on my smb3 square and finally figured out my FF pattern. I know I'll have my smb3 square done and fingers crossed I can finish my FF one in time to mail it out but I don't think I'll have time for my zelda square T_T

Here is my FF square I will be getting supplies for later today:

Cool design, corbin. How's everyone else doing? I've completed my 5th square and I think I shall make this the last one, as I need to take a break for a few days to rest. I'm sorry I couldn't do all the ones I wanted to do initially, but I did my best and I hope it is enough.

Anyways, take a look! (Sorry for the bad picture >_>)

Now all I need to do is give them all a wash, flatten and straighten them out and get them on their way to tnitnetny!

You don't have to worry about washing them if you don't want to. I will wash, flatten, and iron them all before I quilt them just in case someone forgot to wash them.

Remember, if we don't get as many squares as we planned, I will just make 1 quilt instead of 2 or 3. So don't worry if you can't get to them all. If there are leftover squares, then throw pillows!

I currently use a liquid for cottons/delicates that I buy at my local store (it's the store's own brand), but I'll use anything similar to that, it just depends on availability really. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that, but I hope it helps a little

washing up liquid (the stuff for dishes that comes in a bottle and isn't already foamy like Fairy Liquid) works just fine.

Just try to get clear dishwashing detergent, if that's what your going to use. Sometimes the coloured ones will dye your fabric!

I've never had that happen. I would suggest if you're putting enough in to get a dye out of it, that you're probably using a lot more than is necessary to get the job done. There is no needs for suds.
