Thanks Mei! It's been a giant size PAIN to get all that reddish brown done without wanting to freak out lol. There's a LOT of the black left to do too but that's gonna be last...

Oh I know that feeling! My portrait has 3k black stitches. I'm dreading it. Tee hee. I can't stand to just work one color until it's done. I get soooo bored with it! lol

Yes, that is fine. A quarter inch is the most it can be off to be accepted.

Re: Charity Quilt(s) 2013
I think I'd like to participate this year
Here's what I have in mind:
I need a bit of encouragement, though - does that look ok, or is it too blurry/too far reduced in detail? If this isn't good enough, I might need a bit of help improving it! I don't want to buy materials until I'm sure the pattern is ok

Current projects: 'Heroes' sketch, experiments with surface embroidery.

Looks good to me No_need. I downloaded the sth file and looked at it in KG Chart with the cross stitch marks and it looks fine to me. I'd say go ahead with it.

This might be a stupid question, as I'm sure it's probably been answered somewhere else......but who does the quilt go to once it's finished?

Not a stupid question at all if you're new to this and I know you just joined Sprite Stitch not too long ago
The quilt(s) go to be auctioned off for the Child's Play Charity. Last year we had so many squares we ended up with 2 quilts. One was auctioned live at an event and the other on Ebay as a charity auction. This year I think we are looking at possibly 3. I think I saw somewhere in this thread that the lady who organizes this had another place interested in auctioning one too.
If you want to participate, the rules are back in the very first post for this. If you have any questions please ask. We have some seasoned veterans of the charity quilt squares here and some of us are still newbs, myself included in the latter category since last years was my first quilt

I'm still tweaking my scene to make sure the iconic symbols are featured properly. I have a question: what's a good program to use/purchase so that will take my picture and tell me what DMC floss to use? My monitor is too dark to make accuarate comparisons to color samples.
