Crabbyman I believe we did agree that filled in is ok. Also had a question since my idea for one might have to change depending on the answer but are we stitching the game titles for the themed quilts to go in the middle? I don't know that it is necessary but I just wanted to know if I need to think up a new plan for the FF quilt ^_^;

I think one square is going to be the new sprite stitch logo, one is the logo for the charity, so a square with the game name wouldn't be a bad idea.

I would actually prefer the background to be filled in with stitches, I think it will give the quilt a nicer cleaner look as well as make it easier for me to quilt. :D

I think a square with the game name is a great idea. I guess we should put the two logos on the quilt somewhere for the themed quilts.

I plan on stitching the background of my square(s?). I have done things where I've left the background or some aida cloth unstitched, but I don't think it would look good with this project. That's just my opinion. Maybe we should do a vote?

Cripes. I hate to bring some bad news. But my college semester has decided that once I get back from break, I'm going to have a very fun roller coaster ride. These classes are all 300-400, and normally it isn't a problem, but I have an inkling they will be.
As much as I really, really want to do this, I can't guarantee I'd be able to devote the time my squares would need. Is it alright to ask to be taken out?

I am so, so sorry you guys. *hangs head* :sorry:

Ah yes. I see now that people had mentioned that filling in was fine. I managed over overlooked that post.
And if it helps the quilters, that only gives me extra reason to fill it up. :)

If we are going to do the titles for the theme quilts I know the original red final fantasy logo will fit in the 96x96 work space and I would be happy to make the sqaure (so I can keep my original plan lols) but the original zelda title is 143 wide just for the text, no frills from the title screen. The smallest logo I could think of was for link's awakening and it is still about 120 wide just for the text. So if we do want to do it we have to figure out if the title square can be larger then the 96x96 or if someone can scale down the LOZ logo without distorting it.

Or something we could do to save time and space is I could embroider the title screen of the game, the sprite stitch logo, and the name of the charity in one block.

Like:

Final Fantasy
Sprite Stitch
Child's Play

(In the actual style of each of course)

This could be the center square of the quilt if we have an odd number of blocks for the row and column.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I now have this machine and a program converter. I am actually sad to say I haven't done any cross stitch since I got my pretty new toy. I have two hockey quilts up on my site that I used the machine for and should have two more examples around Christmas when I give them as gifts.

On a side note, I did some measurements and when you start assigning blocks to sew with these measurements if we do an odd number blocks (to get a center block) it would be 5 across and 7 down with the borders. So that would mean 34 stitched blocks per quilt. We could also get away with 3 across and 5 down if I use larger borders so that would be 14 stitched blocks per quilt. If I sew more then one quilt, they do not have to be the same size.

I don't really have a stake in either set of games that have been decided on as themes. I've never played Final Fantasy and haven't played much Zelda. If you just want to assign me something, I'll still do the stitching but I'm not sure how good I'll be at coming up with a pattern for games I don't really know. If someone wants to make up a pattern for me, I can do the stitching. Will this work?
