I had a basic sprite pattern put together, but I sort of edited the colours as I went along. I'm not really sure what I used now, I'm sorry.
No problem if you would post the pattern anyway I can edit as i go along! :nod
I worked out of paint, using the CTRL+G to put gridmarks on it. When I transported it to KGstitch, the colours got all messed up, so working from the original sprite was easier.

This is the original image, plus one I just edited to show how to do the backstitching. Few comments I want to make about this pattern:

- The light brown color in the pattern is just the fabric with no stitching on it. You could stitch this on white, but it looks better if it's a color distinguishable from the rest of the puzzle. I wanted it to look like it was being put together on a table, but I wasn't able to get any fabric that was a dark enough brown.

- I realized that the gold Jiggy row at the top probably should have had STOP 'N' SWOP written on it, but it was already too late when I decided this would have been a good idea, so I couldn't change it. If you want to match the way it looks in the game, here's a screenshot for reference:
Image

- Like I said in the other post, the ice key was done with one strand of normal thread and one strand of metallic. I think it looks pretty cool this way, but obviously it's optional.

- The backstitching was done with two shades of brown - a darker one for any border between puzzle and empty, and a lighter one for a border between two pieces that are attached. I also thought of doing little half-stitches on the bottom and right of each border edge to give it additional depth, but didn't have the time to do this. I did outline the question mark on the yellow egg with a dark yellow though. Didn't make much of a difference, but it's something.

- Feel free to fix the shading on the eggs. The original pattern I drew had three colors (one being black) for the outline of each one, but when I first imported it to the pattern program, it consolidated some of the colors and I decided to not bother fixing it.

- If you feel like editing the pattern a lot, it's also not too hard to switch which pieces are not put into the puzzle yet, if you want to make it unique from mine or if you think it looks better a different way.

I love all the entries guys! I didn't have time to particate this month after all - Grad School finaly got real ;)
But I did have time to map out a new pattern that fits the theme - Final Fantasy Tactics A1 - Arms, Armor & Items. I was thinking of making a "weapon of choice" collage with some of the items by c'est la vie.
Hopefully it will be of use for future projects/contests.

I also didn't have time to completely finish but here is what I could complete in 1 and a half days.

It's supposed to have 4 more items (the bomb, the missile, an energy tank and the high jump boots), which I plan on finishing and then framing. Maybe next time I can actually start more than 3 days before it's due.
