I'd consider making Nov/Dec one big swap or dec/jan might be better. People get busy with projects for the holidays and you'll see quite a drop off in the numbers for thedec challenge. I think twinning it with January would probably be best, as then once folks have time over the holidays they can work on it then and get it done for sometime in January.

I joined after the Final Fantasy stitch-a-long and am sorry I missed it.

I think stitch-a-longs would be awesome!

I second this. Stitch-a-longs are always fun.

Here's a idea. Have a year long stitch-a-long. Then at the end of the year gather up top 3-5 entries from each challenge, vote and then give that winner the stitch-a-long project.

Looking at the timeline, I would think changing August to the stitch along is best?
Do we need an extended time for a stitch along? I don't think so do we?

I would rather keep swaps out of December altogether and I would prefer not to have challenges spilling over into the next year if possible. Not sure about just having one swap, people would have to give me opinions on it. Big and mini, just big, or just mini. Please let me know what you think! (Personally I love making things for other people, so I'd be a fan of keeping both :P)

I do like the idea of a stitch-a-long, I was in the FF one and it's fairly enjoyable.

No, stitch-a-longs don't need the extra time, it's more like just pick a shared theme and go from there, no deadlines or anything like that. Just for fun, really! August seems like a nice time to do that, too.

1. Doing a sponsorship give away. For example, an etsy shop could donate an item for the prize if we post pictures, list their website, and maybe put it on the blog.
2. To make it cheaper if the prize needs to be purchased, then we could do an end of the year prize. Enter all the monthly challenge winners and have a vote for the best, or drawing, etc.
I had considered trying to bag some gear from shops or companies, etc. I'm pretty good at asking for things and getting them :D
I also really like an end of the year type prize (or any annual thing) too!

I think most people would prefer the mini swap. I know the mini swap always gets more people involved... I'm not really that bothered with big myself, but I know others are... I think we should keep both...

I think itll be nice to do a stitch a long, gives us a little variety in our activities. otherwise the schedule is fine with me, whatever consensus you guys reach.

as far as giveaway gear, the problem as people pointed out is really money. If BMH wants to contact companies about advertising for giveaways that could work great.

the merchandise was in the forefront for a little while, there is a thread on it somewhere. Its on the back burner for me now, with working on the book, but it is something that could be done. either in a challenge or whatever.
