I've just finished my first needlepoint on plastic canvas:
He's the Sausage enemy from BurgerTime. These things sure take a lot of work. Plus, I kept buying the wrong size frame.

Nice work. How long did it take you to do?? not counting buying the frame, lol.

Gee, I didn't really get a good idea for the time involved. The actual character didn't take a terribly long time, but the background just seemed to go on forever. I think I've gotten faster with experience. This one is on white canvas. The clear plastic canvas seems to be easier to work with than the white one. I think the plastic is a bit less stiff.
I have another one completely stitched but I couldn't fit it into a regular sized frame so I've ordered a custom mat. As soon as I get that—it should be within a week—I'll post it. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
OneChordWonder estimates that it takes her 8 hours at minimum. I can't work straight through for more than an hour or so.

awesome! this is the first burgertime stitching I've seen...and that game is very high on my arcade list!

I have about 3 patterns done and I haven't even bought floss for one of them!!
congrats on trying plastic canvas too...I've been meaning to do that also.
great work!

Yeah, I really wanted to make something a little bit different, and simple for my first attempt. I'd like to go back and do the pickle and egg, but I've begun another needlepoint project and frankly I like the results much better.
(According to
Wikipedia, this guy is named Mr. Hot Dog and the other two enemies are named Mr. Pickle and Mr. Egg.)
I'm really looking forward to posting more of my needlework, but I'm just not ready yet. It's going to be difficult to get a good shot now that my cat has destroyed my light box.
