pacman dungarees

Post by rubbishknitter »

Hi, fellow nerdy stitchers! Thought you might enjoy looking at these... I just finished making some pacman-themed dungarees for my one-year-old son. The appliques are done by hand, but the rest of the dungarees are machine sewed. There's a bonus cherry on the front, and Inky is chasing pacman on the back. I toyed with the idea of putting a row of dots around the side to lead pacman to the cherry, but thought I'd probably already got carried away enough with these!! I should get out more, probably :O

There are more photos and info on my blog: http://bornknitty.blogspot.com/2009/07/ ... arees.html. Thanks for looking!

These are really adorable! And yes, I think there are plenty of people that would get these for their children (I know if I had any, I would be all over getting them for my kids xD). The great thing is, if they were for a girl, all you wuold have to do is switch it up and put Ms. Pac Man on there :) How long did it take you to make them? Great job!!!

thanks guys! you are very kind.

unfortunately it took me about eleventy bazillion hours to do all the hand applique and embroidery, and I'm not very fast on the machine either. So if I were to sell these, I'd probably have to charge the price of a small house just to pay myself minimum wage.

hey, this board has pacman smilies - awesome :pac :blinky

i think thats the problem all of us run into when the idea of selling our crafts pops into our heads...there are tons of people who want the crafts we make, its just not economical though...crafting is slow, and people are cheap because theyre used to buying goods made by machines and sweatshop workers...

thanks! absolutely... i'm cheap, but i'm not *that* cheap! :) I've never really considered selling handmade stuff, it's made either for me + the family or as gifts...

That is too cute! Turn your kid into a gamer at an early age.
