Kirby on Plastic Canvas

Post by MortalElf »

Hi. This is my first post, as well as my first cross-stitching project. I was thinking of turning it into a pin, a la poetinme, but I'm open to suggestions. Other ideas included: magnet, iron-on patch, or Velcro. . . patch. Perhaps add on, make it bigger, frame it? Make it longer, turn it into a bracelet? It is 14 count plastic canvas, with two strands of DMC embroidery floss.

I work at Michaels, so I have plenty of access to the materials. Hopefully, this will be the first project of many!

PS: I noticed that most of the colors I try to pull from sprites for custom patterns don't match up to the RGB to DMC chart here. I found this, which is nice, but has the same problem. Would anyone be interested in such an application that takes your RGB values, and tries to find a "nearby" DMC color? Or would that be a pointless waste of time? Thanks, again!

I went with a pin. Included is a picture of it with an original Game Boy cartridge, for size comparison.

Lordy, I would love to do that. I tried to figure out a NES to DMC color chart a while back. The NES can only display around 50 colors. I thought it'd be easy to just "eyeball" it. It was not.

All done! You can find it over here. Sorry about it being a Tripod page; if anyone needs a copy of the original (without Tripod's lovely addition of ads and spam), I can send it to them.

PS - This borrows (steals) heavily from this site, who did some great work. Thanks, mysterious Internet author!
