What games are you playing now, and why?

Hubby hooked up the old, old 360 to the t.v. upstairs finally so all weekend the three of us jammed out on Rock Band 2. I know hubby and I are sore from the guitaring...I don't think the kiddo is sore from singing though. LOL!

I am also playing Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires on the xbone and enjoying it quite a bit. However, it's cold in the basement where our living room is set up so I haven't been wanting to play down there as much even though I want to play both DW8 and DA:I. lol

In Pogeyman Omegle Rubix, I have accomplished the following:

• gotten almost all of the non-event legendaries (I still need the Alfalfa Sapsucker version exclusives, and I haven't picked up Heatran);
• bred a 31/xx/31/31/31/31 Timid Telepathy Ralts in a single afternoon (a feat which took many times longer in Gen IV);
• and nabbed both a shiny Ralts and a shiny Porygon through DexNav chaining.

The Ralts is intended as a Mega Gardevoir for Super Doubles matches in the Battle Maison. I'm not sure who to put alongside it at the moment, though. All the critters that I like have been outclassed by newer stuff in Gens V and VI, and I'm still getting used to the new stuff.

If anyone's got X, Y, OR, or AS, I'll happily do a breeding project for you!

I don't think I've seen or even learnt about shiny pokemon yet, I shall try and play some more tomorrow. :p

What do those 31s mean?

Each Pokemon has six stats - HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed - and each of those stats is calculated from the current level of the Pokemon, the base stats of the species (what every critter with that Pokedex number is good at, like Skarmory being a defensive wall), the Pokemon's EVs ("effort values", a hidden form of stat XP that is given out when defeating or capturing Pokemon), and the Pokemon's IVs ("individual values", a hidden number from 0 - 31 assigned to each statistic that adds bonus points to that stat - this is a critter's "potential"). That string of numbers means that my Ralts has perfect IVs in every stat except Attack, which it won't use anyway; in other words, at level 100, it will have an additional 31 bonus points in each useful stat.

That said, the only place where any of that knowledge matters is in a competitive setting - either the in-game Battle Tower / Battle Maison, or in battles with other competitive players. Unless you're planning on entering the VGC tournament someday, it's safe to dismiss it all as nerdbabble.

Had a whole day of gaming with friends on Easter Sunday, I totally recommend Arcadia Quest!! And I love Lords of Waterdeep!!!
