Zelda Old Man condensed REQUEST

Could someone please make me a pattern out of this where one pixel in the image is one square of aida? I can't seem to get it to downsize in Gimp (I don't know Gimp very well) so that the edges stay clear and crisp. It keeps trying to antialias the edges or something. Basically, I'm trying to squeeze this down to sprite size so I can stitch it on something kind of smallish. Thanks in advance!
