I have been trying to get this picture into a cross stitch pattern but it seems like it doesn't really like the text. All the other things I could probably clean up but the text i just cant seem to fix.
Would want the width around 30 cm. Anyone that can help me?

There are a couple of issues with this picture that'll mean you won't get a good pattern out of it.
1) This picture is a jpg file - the compression in a jpg screws up the colours in a picture in order to make a smaller file. Open the picture in Paint and zoom in and you can see what I mean. The best format to use for sprites is png, but bmp and gif files work too.
2) The picture is too large, even with all the background cropped out. The picture is about twice as large as it needs to be, but even when reducing the size by half, you would be looking at a size of about 30 inches (about 76 cm) on 18 count aida.
When working with sprites, you can only resize them so long as you can keep the pixel width the same size. In your picture, each background pixel is a 2x2 square and each Mario pixel is a 4x4 square. This means we can reduce the size by half so that the background is made up of 1x1 pixels and the Mario is made of 2x2 pixels.
I don't know if you can find a .png file version of this file, it may be easier to make one from scratch with pictures from The Spriters Resource.
Cant seem to find it in any other format so I guess I will try and do it from scratch with the sprites. Checked a bit on The Spriters Resource and it seems like they have everything I need.
Thanks for the information
