Curse of Monkey Island Request

Hi there talented people,
I am hoping someone can help me with a pattern... I've never made a request before so hoping its not too outlandish.

This is the image I want to use (yes I'm a sucker for punishment). Ive made a few cross stitches from this site and they've been AMAZING! (when i figure out how to post them I will). So hoping someone can really make this come alive too.

I'd be looking for something no bigger than A4 (8 by 11 inches) and could cope with up to 40 colours I reckon.

This is a huge picture. As is, it measures as 640 x 480 stitches, which when stitched on 16 count ends up being about 40 x 30 inches. Halved it and it comes out to 320 x 240 stitches, which equals to 20 x 15 inches on 16 count. Halved that and came up with probably the smallest one I could do without losing all the details at 160 x 120 stitches. That was 10 x 7.5 inches, again on 16 count.

Have to break this up between posts, so I'll post the smallest one here and then do other posts for the other ones.

And this is why I need help with this sort of thing, to me that picture is just the size it appears in my laptop screen... Thanks again!

Now the important question... Black or white aida?

I would stick with white aida. It will be easier on your eyes and there isn't enough black in the image to save you work. It looks like most of it will have to be stitched anyway.
