Dr. Mario rug?
Hello!
My husband and I are working on a Mario themed bathroom and I thought a hand made latch hook rug would be a nice touch. I've decided on a Dr. Mario theme and I have found the sprites on here ready to use, but I'm worried they may be too large or too small for the size rug I want... I'm aiming for a 30" by 20", roundabout, with Dr. Mario a large sprite on the left and the three germs scattered on the right.
Does anyone have any tips to easily change size of a sprite to the desired size?
Thanks so much!

Re: Dr. Mario rug?
Someone else might be able to do a better job but this is what I would do: dr mario's head plus 2 bugs, for example:
I would make a pattern for you (I'm assuming you just use small cross stitch patterns??) just let me know what colour of bugs & in what order. Also can make the "uh-oh" face instead. The current pic is 31x19 pixels.

Re: Dr. Mario rug?
I haven't latch hooked in many years, so I'm not sure whether or not I can base the rug off of a large cross stitch pattern. I need the rug to be about 20" by 30", so I guess I could ask for the head of Dr. Mario and the germs patterned in separate files so they'd be big enough and I can assemble the rug using the individual patterns. I have no idea how to pattern so I'm at a loss. I'm sorry. :/

I think I understand now, you can probably do the whole dr mario plus the 3 germs then. I'll make them later, I think dr mario is 60ish pixels high, will that work?

Re: Dr. Mario rug?
It looks like latch hook canvas is either 3.3 or 5 stitch per inch (I think), so a 30x18 pixel pattern would come out at 9"x5.5" or 6"x3.3". Definately room for a bigger sprite, or to do 2x2 or 3x3 blocks for each pixel.
You may want to confirm the canvas count though, I am going off what I think are the size measurements on Amazon, but it sounds about right.

I work at JoAnn Fabrics; I'll have to go in and look at the latch hook canvas tomorrow and ask a coworker who may know a little more about it.
Would you happen to know if I could use a cross stitch pattern with latch hook and it end up looking okay, or would I have to tweak it a little to come out right?

Re: Dr. Mario rug?
Hope these help: Dr. Mario is 25x38 pixels so on 3.3 mesh = 7.6'x11.5', or if each pixel is 4 (2x2 square) "latches" (sorry not up on my latch hook lingo) = 15.2' x 23' leaving room for some germs either way. The germs are 9x9 pixels so 2.7' or 5.5' square. Have fun hooking
