Neliel (Espada Form) WIP

Hello!

I've started on my first 'big' project about 5 days ago,.. the finished size is 11 x 13 inches. I made the pattern in KG chart and I really love this project but the colors are starting to freak me out a bit... this one's too green, this one's too dark, this one's too light... AAH! I don't really know what to do about the colors... some of them are looking a little too off to look ok to me... have I just been staring at it too long? (its mostly the 'shadow' areas... aka under her bust (which, if I keep that same color, I may leave in half stitches because it's too dark otherwise... though that will probably look off) and the darker colors of her hair.)

I figure I might just wait it out and finish the rest of the project before going back to the ones I don't like and trying to colormatch things and replace them with something similar that I like better. Any tips?

It looks a little dark to me but that could be your camera/lighting. I think the contrast of the colours looks great so far so I would let it be. The more projects I do the more I realize that if I pick colours "by eye" sometimes the colours end up blending together so that you can't see the detail I've put into the piece. So now when I do a big project that won't be viewed close up I trust kg stitch a little more. However I have no luck with browns or purples so I always pick out those colours myself.

Thanks so much for the advice! I think I'll just leave it as is until I complete the project and then if anything REALLY bugs me I'll figure something out.

Yeah, you should have seen the weird almost-neon orange colors they gave me for the skin tones. (I was grabbing all my floss really quick though because we had to be out of there and I saw the color and I thought 'I don't remember there being any orange in here... Wait, I'm sure thats for the skin tones. Yeah, I should have done my research')
